Compatibility readings: how two people fit, and how today sits between them
Compatibility is not a percentage. Two charts meet in specific places — her Moon on your Saturn, his day master fed by your elements — and each meeting is a thing that will happen between you, repeatedly, with a shape you can name. Lumia reads the meetings in both systems and adds the part most compatibility readings leave out: what the current day does to the pair.
The Western reading: synastry
Synastry lays one chart over the other and reads the aspects between them. Venus to Moon is ease and affection; Sun to Saturn is weight and commitment, or being judged; Mars to Mars is desire, or fights. The seventh houses say what each of you is looking for and whether the other is it. Lumia writes where you run alike, where you pull, and what the pulling is actually about.
The BaZi reading: supply
The BaZi side asks whether the other person’s elements supply what your chart is short of, or add to what you already have too much of. A weak fire day master with a wood-rich partner is fed; with a water-rich partner is dampened. The day branches meet too — some combine, some clash — and a clash is a known pattern of recurring argument, named in advance. BaZi compatibility.
Today between you
Your compatibility does not change. The day does. Each morning’s transits touch each chart differently, and the reading ends with today’s weather for the pair: a day that favours one of you, a day to make a decision together, a day to give each other room. This is the part people come back for.

A worked example
Her Saturn sits on his Sun. Synastry: she is the serious one and he feels judged, and also steadied. BaZi: he is a strong wood day master, she is metal-heavy — metal controls wood, so she cuts him to shape, which he needs and resents. Today: the Moon is on his Venus and the day’s element is water, which feeds wood. A good day for him to hear the hard thing. That is a compatibility reading.
