BaZi vs Western astrology: the same birth, two different readings
Western astrology and BaZi start from the same minute and read it in different ways. Western astrology maps where the planets stood against the zodiac and the horizon: a sky. BaZi turns the year, month, day and hour into four pairs of characters with elements: a season. One tells you how you are wired; the other tells you what you are made of and what feeds you. What Western astrology does better
Temperament and interior life. The Sun, Moon and Ascendant give a portrait most people recognise in the first minute. Relationships, through Venus, the Moon and the seventh house. Fine timing: a transit lands on a day, and the transit map shows what is moving this week. The chart is also visual — a wheel you can look at — which makes it the better teacher.
What BaZi does better
